Abbey of "San Galgano"

Domenica, al ritorno da una bellissima giornata di sole trascorsa al mare, ci siamo fermati all'Abbazia di San Galgano dove si trova "La Spada nella Roccia" ( avete visto il cartone animato della Disney? Uno dei miei preferiti! ). L'ultima volta che c'ero stata ero molto piccola, anche se tutte le volte che vado al mare ci passo davanti, e la ricordavo poco. Nelle vicinanze dell'abbazia senese dedicata a Galgano Guidotti (San Galgano) sorge la Cappella di San Galgano dove è conservata la spada che, secondo la tradizione, il santo avrebbe infisso nella roccia in segno di rinuncia alla vita mondana. L'Abbazia è splendida, putroppo non abbiamo visitato la Cappella perchè era tardi ed essendo domenica era pieno di turisti... sarà per la prossima volta! :D

Sunday, returning from a beautiful sunny day at the beach, we stopped at the Abbey of San Galgano where is "The Sword in the Stone" (have you seen the Disney cartoon? One of my favorites!). The last time I was there was very little, but every time I go to sea we walk past, and remembered little. Close to the Sienese dedicated to Galgano Guidotti (San Galgano) the Chapel of San Galgano is preserved where the sword, according to tradition, the saint would have driven into the rockas a sign of renunciation of worldly life. The Abbey is beautiful, unfortunately we have not visited the chapel because it was late and since Sunday was full of tourists ... will be for next time! :D
